Hi Everyone!
So sorry I have not been posting lately!!!
But today I am back to share with you another challenge
I am doing with my friend Darlene.
(Just click on her name to go to her blog to see her project.)
Darlene and I go shopping together at the local
Goodwill occasionally to find some great projects
to alter. We try to get matching items
or as close to matching as possible then challenge each other
to see what we make them into. We do not share what
we are doing to them. So when you see them we do also. LOL
Its great fun!!!
Here is what the item looked like when we got it.
It's a yellow wooden frame with a mirror in the center of it.
We each got one and they were identical.
So on with the unveiling of my project.
Here is what I did with mine.
I removed the mirror then
turned it around and used the back side of it as the front.
Can you see in the background the musical notes
and the image of Jesus. I stamped them very lightly
in gold pigment ink.
If you look real close you can see that
I added a real feather to the wing
Its so hard to get the glimmer mist to show up
in the photos but it's there LOL
I used twigs that I painted and I made a small bird nest
out of twigs too. I misted almost everything
with glimmer mist. I also used TH Distress inks.
The bow is seam binding I dyed. The flower is from Archiver's.
A sizzix die was used to finish off the corners.
The following stamps were used:
Our Dailey Bread Designs
Heart & Soul
Stampabilities.
Well there you have it my altered mirror !!
I would love to hear what you think of it.
Now go check out Darlene's blog and see her mirror makeover.
I can't wait to see it too, see you there!!!
Hugs
Lana
