My Friends Wooden Book.

Happy Monday to all my friends!

Phew is it ever humid out today. I just got back
from walking my dog and its waaaaaaay too
hot out there for me LOL. Hope your all staying
nice and cool. I have been busy doing house
work and laundry today, but I wanted to take a
minute and share my friend Kris's wooden book
project. We worked on them together the other day,
you can see mine below in a previous posting. She
finished hers recently and I wanted to share it
 with you. Isn't it lovely!!

The paper used, was one from the wonderful Webster's
paper collection. Miscellaneous lace pieces, a
bookmark tassle, unknown flower with a brad in the
center, labels one nestie and sewing notions were
all used on this. She also used Tim Holtz crackle
paint on the wooden box prior to adding all
the pretties. This project was made for her
friend who is moving out of state, she filled
the hidden drawer with inspirational notes.
What a wonderful gift from her heart.
So delicate and lovely.
Really great job Kris!
Well that's it for now, hope you
all come back again soon.

Wall Art

                                  Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I have another unusual project to share with you.
Its an unfinshed wooden item, infact it's
two unfinished wooden items.

close ups of each stamp

Name of the Beauty Shop added
"Abby Gale's"

The Scissors are from Hobby Lobby and I painted them with
black acrylic paint. The frame is from Michaels, I covered it in
Graphic 45 paper both the sides and the background. I
then stamped four images from Hampton Arts stamps, that
I also got at Michaels. Oh do I love those stamps! I used
Distress inks and black EP. The ribbon and brads are from SU.
The beads and buttons are unknown from my stash. The
black pearls on the Scissors are from Archivers,I hand drew
flourishes to fit in the space and then used crystal
effects to glue them on. The picture sure does not do
it justice. I took several photos in several different settings
and only this one came even remotely close to what
it really looks like. LOL A photographer I am not!!!
But hope you get the idea. I am hoping to sell this
to the beauty shop where I get my hair done.
Hope you have been inspired by my art work
to try another medium to work with. I have several
more wooden items to play with so stay tuned LOL.

Vintage Wooden Book

Hi Friends,
Sure hope your enjoying this beautiful weather, atleast it's
beautiful here in NE Ohio. Humid but still great.

I have a different type project to share with you today.
I found this great unfinished wooden book at Hobby Lobby.
The spine part of the book is a drawer. How neat is that!

As I said the wooden book is from Hobby Lobby. The fabulous
paper is, "Once upon a time"DCWV at JoAnne's. I used glossy
white CS, for the image which my dear friend Kris gave me (Thanks Kris!!)
I used alot of Tim Holtz's products listed here:
Grunge Board, Alterations Dies, Elegant Flourishes,
 Tattered Florals,Caged Bird, Distress Stickles,
Findings, Distress Inks, Stamps from Stampers Anonymous.
Ribbon from S.U. and Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.
Can you tell I am hooked on Tim Holtz products LOL.
 I think they are fabulous!!!!!
I sprayed the box first with Glimmer Mist then used watered
down Distress Ink refill and painted the box then wiped it off
as you would stain and Wow it turned out great, it's
hard to see how sparkly and pretty it is in the
pictures but as usual IRL its better!

I truly loved making this project. Infact I purchased several
more types of wooden pieces to play with so in the future
I will be sharing those as I get them done.
Hope this has inspired you to step out of your comfort
zone and try something different.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!!!!
